Powder Feeders
Tekna offers a full range of feeders that enables the transportation of low-fluctuation powders with low or high powder flow rate. We also offer liquid and vapor suspension feeders for plasma processes.

PFD
The PFD-401 Series is a rotating disk feeder conceived to feed various types of fee flowing powder at constant feed rate. The PFD-401 can be used for a powder size range from 10pm up to 300pm. Our Ultrasonic vibration device which is standard on all Tekna Powder Feeders provides the advantage of pasting powder feeding without problems.
Pulse Free Advantage
This technology allows pulse-free feeding capability based on Tekna rotation technology. The PFD-401 is compact, easy to handle and intergrate in any processing system. The different electoral control enclosure options allow using the feeder as a standalone unit or as a fully automated feeder with integrated remote-control capacity via Ethernet and real-time powder flow monitoring. Tekna provides a solution for each application, from feeders for high pressure applications to Nano size powders. We at Tekna have the solution to feed your powder.

PFR Fine Powder Feeding System
The PFR400 is the latest model of powder feeders developed by Tekna Plasma Systems Inc. It is conceived to feed fine and ultrafine “difficult feeding” types of powder.
Powder range
The PFR-400 Series is conceived to feed various types of powders with a constant controlled feed rate. PFT-400 can be used for powder sizes range starting from 8mn up to 5pm. Our Ultrasonic Vibration Device which is standard on all Tekna powder feeders provides the advantage of pasting powder feeding without problems. The tilt mechanism allows a very fast and easy cleaning of using different powder types.

PFV-100-VM-NO Vibration Powder Feeding System
The Powder Feeder PFV-100-VM-NO is designed to fee various types of powder by the means of a vibration bowl which assures a constant flow into the injection or dispersion probe. The feeder incorporates two principal features: The Vibrating Feeder Module and The Manual Control Module which allows you to operate and control the feeding process.
Control Unit
The PFV-100 Control Unit is used to operate and control frequency and stroke of the powder feeder. These parameters are used to adjust the feed rate while it also has the function to start and stop the feeding during an operation.
Vibrating Feeder Module
The vibrating feeder module is composed of the bowl (on the top) and the vibrating motor. The powder must be shed by the top opening. Open the clamp to have access to the bowl. When the vibrator is working, the powder spreads on the bowl spiral track and flows into the exit hole as showed on the pictures below.
Technical Specifications
Power requirement: 110/220V, 50/60 Hz, 5A
Maximum pressure: 100kPa (15 psig)
Maximum bowl capacity: 0.41 liter
Feed rate: 0.1 to 5 kg/h (depending on precursor size and density)
Weight: 9.5 kg

Suspension and Liquid Feeder
The suspension feeder, developed by Tekna, was designed feed liquids, or powder in suspension in a liquid, directly into the plasma torch. The suspension is fed to the atomization probe with a variable speed peristaltic pump and a pulse suppresser device, which stabilizes the flow to the atomization probe. The atomization jet of the probe can be adjusted with an adjustment knob. The following features are also included:

- Pulse suppression device to assure continuous liquid flow
- a heating device
- a magnetically coupled stirrer in order to maintain the solid in suspension during the operation
- Atomization gas flow monitoring
- Liquid and gas backpressure monitoring
- Timer
- Interlock with external equipment
- 120 V – 50/60 Hz
Atomization probe
The unit is usually used with a radial dispersion probe in order to better atomize the solution when such is needed. The Tekna SDR792-230D0 probe is the basic model generally used for multiple condition. The probe itself (3D) and in operation views are show below.
It also has the possibility to be introduced into high temperature medium when connected to a high-pressure cooling circuit (generally used in induction plasma flames). ~ 4 lpm with 150 psi differential (150 psig inlet pressure)
